What we do

Improve how your business works

We help organizations improve how they serve customers, run operations, and make decisions. We start with the core business and examine how people, processes, information, equipment, and technology work together. This establishes what needs to change, what should be retained, and where software, physical automation, and agentic AI systems can make a useful contribution.

Understand the business as a system

We trace how work and information move through your organization and its relationships with customers, partners, and other institutions. We examine where repeated administration, fragmented information, or disconnected systems constrain the business, and identify improvements in the context of your goals and operating responsibilities.

Design the change across the whole system

We bring process design, information flows, responsibilities, and technical architecture into one coherent direction. We establish where automation can help, where human judgment matters, and how new capabilities should fit existing systems. Security, digital trust, and governance shape these decisions from the outset.

Carry the improvements into practice

We develop and integrate software, automation, and control systems, drawing on hands-on engineering experience and specialist talent suited to the project. We coordinate work across disciplines and validate the result in its intended operating environment. Documentation and knowledge transfer help the people responsible understand, operate, and maintain the system.

Finance & Insurance

Reguvera: from application to informed decision

Reguvera is our platform for onboarding, verification, staff review, and signing in finance and insurance. It puts our systems approach into practice by connecting customer and partner journeys with checks, review, and business-system handoffs in one workflow. Documents, source evidence, and review history stay together in a shared case record, helping staff resolve exceptions and apply judgment where it adds value.

AI agents support document reading, classification, and workflow coordination. Configured rules determine which cases advance automatically and which require staff review, keeping the evidence behind each decision in view.

By reducing repetitive administration and streamlining case handling, Reguvera frees consultants, sales teams, and service staff to focus on where they create the most value: understanding customers' needs, offering thoughtful advice, and building lasting relationships.

Government

Digital services that connect people, information, and institutions

We help public institutions digitalize services and modernize the systems behind them. Our work connects the citizen's experience with administrative processes, digital identity, information exchange, and the records an institution needs to retain.

This combines software engineering with research and analysis of interoperability, security, and governance. Tanja's experience in e-SENS, Digital Europe for All, and SI-PASS informs how we approach reusable public-service components, trusted information exchange, and the responsibilities of participating institutions.

Reguvera for public services

Our Reguvera platform provides configurable workflows for public-service applications such as permits and licences. It connects online submissions and supporting documents with authorized register checks, staff review, requests for corrections, and the documents produced at the end of the process.

Requirements and review steps can reflect the service being delivered. Applicants can provide information through a guided process, while staff retain the evidence and history needed to handle each case.

AI supports document processing and workflow coordination within the service's configured rules and staff review process.

Energy & Utilities

Software that connects grid operation, asset decisions, and data

We develop and integrate software for energy infrastructure, from operational systems to the information used by maintenance teams and investment planners. Our experience connects the behaviour of physical assets with the wider systems used to manage them throughout their working life.

Bespoke software for grid operations

Our team's experience includes developing bespoke grid-level operational technology software for customers in Europe, the United States, and Canada. We work at the interfaces between measurements, engineering calculations, operator applications, and the SCADA and energy-management systems used to run the network.

This includes software that combines weather and operating data to assess the available capacity of grid assets. We design integrations around the needs of the operating environment, including availability, timely data, and controlled exchange between operational and enterprise systems.

Enterprise asset management and investment planning

We bring experience in enterprise asset management, asset performance management, and asset investment planning. This connects asset registers, maintenance history, and condition information with decisions about inspection, repair, refurbishment, and replacement.

Investment planning adds a longer-term view: comparing lifecycle cost, failure risk, service impact, and the value of competing projects. We help connect the data and systems needed to examine investment scenarios within budget and resource constraints, including the consequences of deferring work.

Data management

Useful engineering information depends on consistent data across asset registers, network models, geographic systems, sensors, and operational histories. We help bring these sources together, resolve differences in identifiers and structure, and make data available for analysis and everyday decisions.

Our experience includes consolidating technical data for electricity distribution and connecting operational information with business intelligence.

Digital twins and critical infrastructure

Alongside operational software, we bring research experience in digital twins and the security of critical infrastructure. Tanja's work includes a taxonomy of digital twins for power grids and an open-source tool for benchmarking design choices, alongside a dual-twin use case covering SCADA and advanced metering infrastructure for risk-aware monitoring and privacy-preserving energy intelligence.

Her research also covers digital twins for transport-system security, governance for the secure deployment of standards, and security policies that translate organizational goals into safeguards across interconnected subsystems. Together with her background in PLC and SCADA engineering, this informs how we approach energy systems: considering software, physical assets, people, and operational responsibilities together.

Complex Systems Engineering

Make complex systems work as a whole

We help organizations design, develop, and integrate systems in which people, software, equipment, data, and agentic AI systems work together. Our approach connects system architecture and practical engineering with an understanding of security, trust, and how the system will be operated.

From system design to working systems

Our capabilities span agentic AI systems, distributed control, robotics and automation, physics modeling and simulation, and operational data management. We help clarify requirements, evaluate technologies, develop software, and coordinate integration across specialist teams. Security, interoperability, and the behaviour of the system as a whole inform the design from the start.

Automation for physical operations

We connect sensing, control, equipment, and operator interfaces with the wider systems used to run an organization. This approach applies wherever technology acts on the physical world: manufacturing, process control, traffic systems, robotics, and infrastructure. We consider how equipment behaves, how people supervise it, and how operational information supports maintenance and business decisions.

Our team brings hands-on experience in embedded electronics and firmware, PLC and SCADA systems, sensor integration, precision motion control, and robotics.

v3rtical's engineering work in healthcare includes a robotic medical laser R&D project for a customer. Miroslav's contribution covered the overall engineering solution, including sensing, ROS engineering, user experience, and development infrastructure.

Our team's prior experience

Our team brings experience gained in previous engineering and research roles on complex international projects.

Miroslav's background includes contributions to ITER in fusion research, MYRRHA in accelerator-driven research, and ESO's Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). His work has spanned control software, system architecture, and technical coordination.

Tanja's research experience includes CONCORDIA, focused on cybersecurity across industries, and Digital Europe for All, focused on secure, interoperable digital services across borders. Her work connects systems engineering with digital trust, architecture evaluation, and governance.

Our approach

See the whole system.
Work through the detail.

We work directly with your team to understand the challenge and agree on a useful first outcome. That may be a system assessment, a technology evaluation, a prototype, or a defined integration. We make assumptions and responsibilities explicit, test the important uncertainties, and establish how the result will be evaluated in practice.

We value rapid iteration, using prototypes and demonstrators to turn ideas into something your team can try, assess, and discuss. This hands-on approach helps you explore possibilities, understand trade-offs, and clarify priorities, while feedback from the people who will use, operate, and manage the system helps us refine the engineering. We learn together, guiding the overall solution toward the outcomes that deliver the greatest value to your organization.
