Core Team

Communication and language, both natural and human-made, have always inspired my view of the world. Mathematics provided me with the clarity of meaning, whereas languages gave me the freedom to wander between meanings. This interest has driven my reasearch on the nature of human behaviour in various kinds of systems.

I graduated from the Faculty of electrical enginnering in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, at the department for Automation and system engineering. I obtained my PhD from the Jozef Stefan post-graduate school in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the department for Open Systems and Networks. My PhD research focused on designing systems that support human behaviour based on trust and reputation.

After graduation, i worked for two years in the industry as an automation engineer (doing PLC and SCADA programming for the biggest cement factory in Macedonia – “Usje”). I had then moved on working for 13 years in academia as a researcher and coordinator of various ICT projects. My expertise includes:

  • Future Internet Technologies and Next Generation Networks
  • Digital Trust and Identity management
  • eGovernance
  • Enterprise Architecture Development
  • Information security and privacy
  • Digital policies and regulatory frameworks
  • Cybersecurity in critical infrastructures
  • Trust and reputation in human-centric systems
  • e-Health security and standardization

Throughout my work, i have consistenly performed:

  • Scientific research
  • Policy analysis and development
  • Project management and coordination and
  • Wide international collaboration

I have participated in and coordinated numerous projects, including some of the largest scale innovation efforts in the EU on cybersecurity in critical infrastructures. Some of the most prominent efforts u have coordinated are:

  • The Cybersecurity work stream in the EU FP7 e-SENS project (Building blocks for interoperable and secure cross-border communication for the EU public administration)
  • The work package on policies and regulatory frameworks for social media and content convergence, as part of the EU H2020 CSA project COMPACT
  • I was the sub-coordinator of the EU CEF project SI-PASS (on the implementation of the eIDAS infrastructure for Slovenia)

I am currently leading the work on eGovernance in the EU H2020 project Digital Europe for All, as well as the work stream for evaluation of the European architecture connecting the public services across Europe. I am the Jozef Stefan Institute coordinator for the EU H2020 CONCORDIA project, which is the largest cybersecurity competence center in the EU. I have also been involved in both the technological and the policy developments in the most recent advancements on digitalization in the EU. I am actively involved in the security standardization of Clinical IoT, co-chairing the IEEE P2933 standardization sub-group on Trust and Identity.

I have graduated in Computer Science at the Faculty for electrical engineering in Skopje. I have more than 20 years of commercial experience in the enterprise IT industry, in various engineering and organizational roles.

After graduation, I joined the Slovenian company SETCCE as a Technical Lead, engineering digitalization solutions for the banking, government, insurance and telecom sectors. With SETCCE, I worked with organizations to adopt paperless processes using digital signatures, electronic archives and electronic invoicing solutions.

In 2012, I joined the company Cosylab as a Senior Software Engineer and a Project Manager. Since 2013, I have been Engineering manager for the Software development group at the company. From 2017, I become Vice President responsible for the scientific market, overseeing business and delivery for around half of the company’s revenues. In 2018, I become Director of Sales managing a global sales team covering Europe, North America and East Asia (China, Japan and Korea).

In 2020, I joined the company TROIA as a Solution Engineering manager and Head of Sales. In this role I was working with customers on business intelligence, advanced analytics and enterprise asset management in government, energy utilities and industry.

Since February 2022, I am working as a consultant helping companies address challenges related to digitalization.

In the enterprise IT field I have hands-on experience with systems such as:

  • ERP
  • CRM
  • BI / DWH / Advanced analytics and big-data
  • Agile Project Management and Work Management
  • Enterprise Asset Management
  • Electronic archives
  • DMS

During the projects I was involved with, I have been in various, often combined, organizational roles:

  • Analyst
  • Lead engineer / developer
  • Technical lead and architect
  • Team lead
  • Project manager
  • Engineering manager

Through my professional career I learned what the key ingredient to it all is - the people.

The people that face the challenges that we overcome with technology - our customers, as well as the people that solve the challenges - the engineering and customer success teams we are part of.
